Shayla Benoit


Shayla Benoit is a filmmaker, director, choreographer, producer, and actor who currently resides in New York City.  

She has appeared at Radio City Music Hall, 54 Below, and in regional theaters across the country. She also can be seen and heard on television, film, and radio.  

Shayla is the President and Founder of Shady Theatrics, an innovative film production company that has produced multiple works for The Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall, The Beacon Theatre, and The Live Watch Party in Times Square for Clear Channel and Chideo. Shayla is the Red Carpet Tony Awards Correspondent for the Actors' Equity Foundation.

Shayla has had the esteemed privilege of filming and directing videos starring Tom Hanks, Peter Scolari, Chita Rivera, Brian d'Arcy James, Gary Beach, Vicki Lewis, David Burtka, Beth Leavel, Brenda Braxton, Justin Guarini, and Deborah Cox.

Shayla and Tim Grady have produced works for Briggs Inc, Transcendent Endeavors, Encores City Center, Clear Channel, Chideo, The Growing Studio, Carol Channing's 93rd Birthday at Town Hall, Chris Rice Productions, and many other organizations.

Shayla had the privilege of working with The Miami Dolphins and Ashley Furniture on "Hope to Dream." This incredible program delivers beds to children in need. Shady Theatrics was able to film home deliveries, and their "Sleep Out" event that provided beds to 100 families.  

She has also created content for The Merce Cunningham Trust, The Actors' Equity Foundation, and The Pocono Mountains Music Festival. 

Shady Theatrics works with Susan Stripling's The Wedding School to film and produce online photography education. 

Shayla has also worked closely with UnReel Films on an event at Lincoln Center for Lululemon Athletica, social media marketing for Never Stop Learning, and promotional videos for The Juilliard School.

She is a collaborator and director for "Striving," which is an artistic collaborative video series currently in production with Eric Mann, Gina Duci, and Craft Film Society.  

Shayla holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from Florida State University.
